The Masikhule team is made up of professionals who share the same vision for the upliftment of women and children. We work closely with experts in community health, nutrition and education.

Léanne Keet

Léanne is an Occupational
Therapist with a special interest
in ECD, which led her to launching
Masikhule to encourage the
holistic development of
pre-schoolers in the community.

Karen Bufé

Training Coordinator
Karen, a qualified staff nurse who
is studying towards a degree in
ECD through UNISA, facilitates a
number of our training courses and
mentors numerous ECD Centres.

Lulama (Lulu) Ntulini

Project Manager and ECD Mentor
Lulu attended training with us in
2013 then went on to accumulate
further knowledge and experience
before joining our team. She project
manages the Teachers’ Early Learning
Resource Library and also mentors.

Coreen Vlok

ECD Facilitator and Mentor
Coreen is qualified radiographer
with a great deal of experience in
working with street children and on
community-based projects.
She is a course facilitator and
ECD mentor.

Sandy Immelman

Marketing and Communications
Sandy has a B.Soc.Sci in Psychology
and many years of experience in the
advertising industry. She manages
the marketing and communication
portfolio and facilitates our Business
Management Course.

Jeanine Andro

Project Manager and ECD Mentor
Jeanine is a qualified teacher with
experience in teaching and project
management.  She is involved with
training and mentoring as well as the
Teachers’ Early Learning
Resource Library.

Else de Jong

ECD Facilitator and Mentor
Elsa is a qualified Junior Primary
School teacher who is passionate
about improving the education of
young children in our communities.
She is a course facilitator and
ECD mentor.

Deborah Hoepfl

ECD Facilitator and Mentor
Deborah is a qualified dietitian
who specialised as a paediatric
dietitian in London. She has consulted
for Masikhule since 2010 and now
facilitates our Best Nutrition Course,
including pre-screening and mentoring.


Greet de Wulf

Greet has her Masters degree in
Law from Stellenbosch University
and has spent many years involved
in various social responsibility
projects.  She served on the CCMA’s
Training Panel and IR Change Panel
and is also a founding member
of the Winelands Mediation Group.

Nadia Kamies

Nadia is an Occupational Therapist
and a graduate of UCT’s Creative
Writing Masters Programme.  She is
the Goodwill Ambassador for
South Africa for the World Children’s
Prize and also on the board of the
Delft Big Band Music Project.

Dr Garth Japhet

Garth is a medical doctor with
further qualifications in maternal
and child health. He co-founded
Soul City and is the CEO of
Heartlines.  Garth is also a Schwab
Fellow, a Senior Ashoka Fellow, a
Fellow of the African Leadership
Initiative and the chair of the
Communication Initiative.


Building relationships, pooling resources and working toward common goals are important aspects of the work of Masikhule.

Masikhule makes a positive contribution to the upliftment of communities through skills training, mentorship and capacity building in the field of Early Childhood Development.

The name Masikhule means
‘Let us Grow’ in isiXhosa.
