MASIKHULE CARES

The Masikhule team will continue to assess and assist where we can – we are in contact with a large group of ECD principals and will keep trying to establish where the greatest needs are.  Our future plans include ensuring that the 70+ community-based ECD centres we work with have the necessary training, equipment, resources and protocols in place for when ECDs re-open. 

We are currently sourcing prices for masks, face shields, disposable gloves, handheld thermometers, santisiers, cleaning equipment, etc.
This means more funding will be needed, and we are appealing to you to assist us with ensuring these ECD centres are appropriately equipped in order to meet the government requirements to re-open when the time comes.

We have been given some generous donations towards basic necessities but the need is far larger than we can cater to. Please consider assisting us with this via Snapscan or EFT.

We cannot train or mentor during lockdown, but we are in daily contact with many of the principals and educators that we work with. We are becoming more and more concerned about the challenges and desperation some are facing.

Women who start up or work in Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres tend to have huge hearts and compassion for the families in their schools and surrounding communities. They are looked to as leaders and sought out in times of need. And they are turning to us for advice and assistance.
